Should you be wearing lipstick or lip gloss? Much of it depends on the look you want to achieve.  Lip gloss has a more sheer and shinier look and, in some cases, can be more moisturizing.  You are always going to have a shiny look with your lip gloss, but you can choose clear or opaque.  Some glosses can also have a glittery finish.  Glosses are great to use if you’re looking for a tint rather than full coverage on your lips.

Lipsticks can have a similar look, but usually aren't as natural looking. Lipsticks can come in more varieties than glosses do.  Lipsticks can come in matte, suede, and glossy finishes; Lip glosses only come in a “glossy” finish. Also, Lipsticks usually need a bit more attention throughout the day to make sure it stays on and, is at its full potential.

As an everyday makeup user, I like to wear lip gloss in everyday, on the go, situations, but I wear lipsticks on special occasions.  If I’m looking for a color impact, I select lipstick.  If you’re looking for both you can always go for a lipstick and gloss combo.
